Visa applicants are required to appear in person for the interview with the following:

  • A valid passport with two blank pages.
  • Application forms: DS-160.
  • A 5cm by 5cm color photograph taken within the past six months against a white background.
  • Necessary documents pertaining to certain visa categories, including but not limited to: approved petitions for work visas, original I-20 for students, and original DS-2019 for exchange visitors.
  • Visa appointment and payment

    To schedule an appointment for a non-immigrant visa you can do it online or by phone at no cost.  Applicants may schedule online  24 hours a day by visiting http://spain.usvisa-info.com or by calling a new toll free call center:  Spain (+34) 91-123-8866 U.S.  703-439-2364. The website and call center are the only authorized methods to schedule a visa interview. 

    The call center is open as follows:

    Monday - Friday, 7:00 - 21:00 (from July 11 to September 11, 2013)
    Monday - Friday, 7:00 - 19:00 (from September 12 onward)

    The payment can be done with a debit card or making a wire transfer.  There is no longer an option to pay cash at a bank service counter.  The Machine Readable Visa fees will not change.  Payment processes for other related fees (for example, SEVIS or ESTA) will not change.
  • Documents proving substantial ties to your country of residence. This may include employment history, pay statements, bank transaction extracts, family records, property deeds, etc.
  • Information regarding the purpose of your trip.
