Saturday, June 18, 2011.

Our visit  to the Comedor Orden de Malta in Cuatro Caminos began with a tour of the facility. We had 11 volunteers that were eager to set up and prep the food for the lunch being served that afternoon to over 250 people. We divided up the duties and we chopped, peeled and cooked the day's ingredients which consisted of bread, potatoes, pasta, sardines, pasta sauce and cookies and natilla for dessert. We spent about two hours there and many of our volunteers left wanting to volunteer their time more often. We donated fish, meat and chicken and the staff at the Comedor could not have been more grateful. The freezers are now stocked! We are very grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this volunteer day.
