Our office provides a wide range of services for the U.S. Social Security Administration and other Federal agencies (Veterans Administration, Office of Personnel Management, etc.). Some of our main responsibilities are to assist individuals living in Spain to file applications for benefits, request Social Security Number cards, and in general, provide expert and personalized information on the Social Security program.

FBU Closed on Fridays

Effective Friday, May 16th, the FBU section of the Embassy will be closed on Fridays. In addition, our regular walk-in hours, from Monday through Thursday, will change to 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. However, our telephone service will remain unchanged and continue to be 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM., Monday through Friday.

Monthly Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for more than 60 million Americans will increase 3.6 percent in 2012, the Social Security Administration announced.
