During Calendar Year (CY) 2004, U.S. exporters shipped approximately one billion U.S. Dollars worth of agricultural, fish, and forestry products into the Iberian Peninsula.

Iberian Peninsula trade shows are "one-stop shops" that provide high visibility for U.S. exporters interested in establishing a presence in this market.  Trade shows provide an opportunity for in-country market research, product testing, and face-to-face contact with potential buyers.

Market Intelligence

Our staff within the FAS/Iberia operation prepares approximately sixty agriculture-related reports yearly. Some of our reports focus on production, supply and distribution on more than twenty farm products in Spain and Portugal. Others identify market conditions, including market access barriers and/or opportunities in the Iberian market. However, in addition to these FAS Publicly Available Reports, we will be pleased provide other market-specific information to interested U.S. exporters. We currently have two non-public reports available solely to U.S. seafood and tree nuts exporters. Market Access Problems?

FAS/Iberia will assist U.S. exporters to the Iberian Peninsula if and when export problems, resulting from Spanish and Portuguese Government application of European Commission regulations, occur. If you have a shipment that is blocked entry into the Iberian Peninsula and your broker/importer cannot resolve the difficulty, please contact us at AgIberia@usda.gov. We will assist you to clarify and resolve any problem you encounter.

FAS Iberia will assist U.S. trade missions to the Iberian Peninsula with appointments, and arrangements. In addition to our assistance, the U.S. Commercial Service (Spain and Portugal) offer a Gold Key program that may be of interest to a specific exporter attempting to contact various companies throughout the Iberian Peninsula.
