2007 Crop Quality Seminar, by the U.S. Wheat Associates, Inc.
This year the U.S. Wheat Associates will sponsor the 2007 Crop Quality Seminars
in Barcelona, Madrid and Porto (Portugal). The purpose of the seminar is to
discuss the various quality aspects of the 2007 U.S. wheat crop. Milling and
baking characteristics will be stressed along with grading factors, world supply
and demand. The goal of the seminar is to show what quality can reasonably be
expected from U.S. wheat this year.
The specialists who will be presenting this year’s seminar include:
Dr. Bert D’Appolonia, Professor Emeritus, North Dakota State University,
Fargo, North Dakota. Prof. D’Appolonia will discuss the quality of the 2007 Hard
Red Spring wheat crop and the Durum wheat crop.
Mr. George Galasso, Regional Vice President of U.S. Wheat Associates Inc.,
Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Mr. Galasso will give an overview of the supply and
demand situation for wheat in the U.S.A. and the world.
Mr. Goris van Lit, Assistant Regional Director, U.S. Wheat Associates Inc.,
Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Mr. Van Lit will discuss the quality of the 2007
Hard Red Winter wheat crop and the Soft and White wheat crops.
Mr. Joseph Sowers, Market Analyst, U.S. Wheat Associates, Washington, D.C. Mr.
Sowers will give an overview of supply and demand and/or will be available for
other market issues.
