NON-IMMIGRANT VISAS
Additional Administrative Processing
On occasion there could be additional
processing sometimes taking up to 60 days or more which cannot be expedited.
Therefore, you are advised not to make any final travel plans until you have
received your passport with a visa in it.
As a result of ongoing review of visa practices
by the State Department and other U.S. agencies in the aftermath of September
11, 2001, visa applications are subject to a greater degree of scrutiny than in
the past, which means that in some instances visa applications may take longer
to process. You will be advised at the time of the interview if your application
requires additional processing.
Delays in processing can and will occur. The
processing times quoted are
approximate and cannot be guaranteed. It is not possible to expedite
a case simply because an applicant has not allowed sufficient time for the
application to be processed.
RETURN OF PASSPORT AND VISA
Visa processing will not be completed on the
day of the interview, therefore, all passports are sent back to you by
courier service MRW once we have
completed processing. An envelope for this purpose will be provided in the
Consular Section.
We always recommend that individuals apply for visas well in advance of their
proposed date of travel and do not make final travel plans until the visa has
been issued and they are in receipt of their passport.
